Chai Watana Tannery Co. Ltd. was established in 1972 at Tambol Tai Ban, in Samut Prakarn province. The company was the first tannery in the country to receive promotional privileges from the Board of Investment. It was also a pioneer in introducing tanned buffalo and cow leather to the world market.

Throughout its 27 years of operations the company’s products have gained worldwide acceptance, particularly in European countries including Germany, where it has been recognized for the quality of its tanning industry for many years.

Since its establishment the company has received many awards both in the Kingdom and from abroad for its high-quality products. Chai Watana Tannery was the first company in Thailand to successfully produce fully tanned buffalo leather. The Company’s outstanding achievements are the result of using modern, imported machinery, and the company’s ability to apply new technology to its existing production processes. Its highly skilled and productive employees, now numbering some 750 persons, have also made immeasurable contributions to the company’s success.
