Water Based Sealing Compounds Water based sealing compounds are dispersions of elastomers and other ingredients in water. They are used to line the ends of cans to provide a perfectly air-tight seal with the can body. Sealing compounds fill the void area in the can’s double seam, prevent contaminants such as dirt and bacteria getting into the pack, prolong the shelf life of canned products, and prevent leaks from pressurized cans such as carbonated soft drink or beer cans. Currently Ubis commands the majority market share for water-based can sealing compounds in Thailand and a significant share in other regional countries such as China, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, etc. Coatings/Lacquers Ubis manufactures a range of coatings which are used on the inside and outside of beverage cans, food and non-food metal cans, drums, pails, collapsible tubes and metal caps/closures. Coatings/Lacquers can been applied by roller onto the metal sheets or metal coil. It can also be sprayed onto the metal before or after the cans are formed.  Most coatings/lacquers used in this field require heat to cure to achieve the intended properties. Coatings/Lacquers are used to protect the contents of cans from the metal as well as maintain the flavor of the pack, and protect the metal can from corrosion, scratching and scuffing, and enable decoration of the can exterior with inks, varnish, etc.
